Hastings Soccer Club - Registration

AboutThe Hastings Soccer Club has two sessions; Fall and Spring. Fall registration begins around the 1st of June and Spring registration begins around the 1st of December. The Nebraska State Soccer league season begins in the Fall and ends in the Spring.

There is a $15 club membership fee which is good for both Fall and Spring. However, if you don't play in the Fall, you will still pay the membership fee for the Spring session only. There is also a $50 fee for each session.

Fall Registration ProcessThe fall registration process begins with filing "Intent to Form a Team" forms with the state soccer league. This is intended to let everyone know which teams are available and provide their tryout information, etc. This is not an issue in Hastings as we rarely ever have more than one team for a given age group.

The next step is to file teams with the state league. The deadline to file teams with the state was July 10th. In order to file teams with the state, we must know how many players at each age group have registered. That is the reason for the registration deadline of June 28th. This date gives the club a few days to organize the information, then have a meeting to determine which teams will be formed for the fall session. That is why it is critical that everyone who wants to play soccer for the upcoming session provides a registration form to the club. This should be done regardless of whether you think a team will be formed or not. It is very difficult for the club to decide which teams to form if we don't have registration from everyone that wants to play. Also, the club must pay about $600 for each team it files with the state.

Once teams are filed, players and coaches are assigned to each team. After all players and coaches are assigned, rosters are provided to each coach. We then wait for the session schedule to be posted. The expected date for fall schedules is August 10th. You can go to the links page and select the Nebraska Soccer League link to check for the schedule. Coaches will then contact players and set up a practice schedule.
